Frequently asked questions about car subscriptions (FAQ)
What is a car subscription?
A car subscription is a service that allows you to use a car for a fixed monthly fee without a long-term commitment. This all-inclusive package already covers the costs of insurance, maintenance, and other related expenses. Users therefore don’t have to worry about anything except refueling or recharging and can switch to a different vehicle on a regular basis.
How does a car subscription work?
- First, select the vehicle model you want, the term (between 3 and 24 months), and your monthly mileage.
- Enter the start date and the pickup location, then submit your reservation request.
- Your car subscription will be confirmed—you’ll just need to sign the contract.
- Then, simply pick up the vehicle.
- At the end of the agreed-upon term, you can return the vehicle and switch to a different model.
Is a car subscription the same as leasing?
No, a car subscription is very different from leasing. With traditional leasing, you enter into a long-term contract of between 36 and 60 months and are responsible for paying monthly instalments, as well as additional costs such as insurance, maintenance and taxes. With a car subscription, however, you can cancel at any time and most associated costs are included in a fixed monthly fee.
Who would benefit from a car subscription?
- Drivers who only need a vehicle for a short period of time (e.g., temporary residence).
- Drivers who want to try out different models on a regular basis.
- Drivers who don't want to worry about tire changes, insurance, maintenance, or other additional costs.
